Worship at Fall Camp 23 Howdy and Hello!!!       Thank you all for your prayers, support, and reading. I am just so blessed to get to work in this mission field of college students, and it really is through His grace and your faithfulness. God is moving at UTA, and I can say I have seen the fruits of our labor.      The big update for this month is that we went to Fall Camp. It is a weekend retreat that we take our students on. We will do teaching and worship sessions, play games, spend free time, and share meals with each other for 24 hours. To be honest, not much of what we do at Fall Camp is new to our formula of ministry week to week. But there is something about driving together to a camp site, away from home, with all of these fresh new faces that results in our students growing closer to one another and to Christ. My friend, Austin, put it well "This is the time of year that our students go from attending a random ministry they found, to being A...

The Power of His Holy Word

Image
Howdy and Hello, Friends!       October is upon us, and I get to share with you an update from September. A theme that God has made so prevalent this month is the power of His Holy Word. I'm talking Scripture, The Bible, Old and New Testament. It is obviously something any Christian should care about and invest time in, but I have found our ministry and students really heating up the value of having the Word written on our hearts.  Our first PRoS. 35 students and pastors reading Galatians on a Thursday night till 10pm. It was a blast      One way we have been heating this value up is through the most simple means: reading together! I am hosting a weekly Public Reading of Scripture (PRoS) every Thursday from 12pm-2pm on campus. Students come, they read along and listen, and afterwards we discuss what stood out.       So many young Christians nowadays know very little of the Bible and the numbers always seem to be decreasing, esp...

Our New Friends Are Finally Here

Image
FIRST CORE OF THE YEAR Howdy and hello, friends!      It is finally that exciting part of the year, when the school year starts and we get to meet hundreds of new students on campus. There have been so many neat conversations, invitations, and explanations of who Jesus is and what he is doing at UTA. Thank you all for your prayers and support. I would not get to be meeting guys like Garrett, Chaehoon, Andrew, Tyler, Teo, Trenton, Sam, and so many others if it were not for your support. If you are reading this, you had a big role to play in Jesus' name being made known this past month. So thank you so much. There have been so many events that I could tell you all about, but I will cover all of them with this. We met a lot of new guys this Welcome Week, which was such good news. Our men's ministry has been shrinking, and our men's team did a great job of befriending and inviting new guys in. I could see Christ making many of these new faces leaders and disciples in the comi...

Fishing For Fish, Before Fishing For Men

Howdy and Hello! It’s just about the end of the summer.  Very soon I will be back on campus, meeting new students, hosting cores, and sharing the Good News of Jesus.   Colton shared at TNF why his fellow students should consider giving to this ministry. He did a great job casting the vision of what God is doing through this ministry and shared about our friendship.     We finished our Summer FOCUS series last week. I always love hearing sermons from my fellow campus pastors, especially the ones from different campuses, since I don’t get to hear them much. If you’d like to listen, check out our Spotify link. My friend, Rhett, spoke about how God takes our hearts from a place of Apathy to Care for those around us. Definitely worth a listen. Click Here for the Sermons In this short summer, I have been inspired more than ever to dive deep into personal relationship with our loving Father, because of the way Rhett expresses his deep need for God. ...

Rest and Rehyrdration

Howdy and Hello!!! It has been so long, or at least feels that way. Summer has been underway for a bit now and I have been loving it,      God gives us a bit of a break over the Summer. Most students are home, or working. So our staff takes time to fundraise, reconnect with God intentionally, and physically rest before the upcoming school year.  Worship with over 300 students from across DFW. What an awesome experience.      Our biggest gathering takes place every Thursday in the Summer though. We host a service every Thursday at Care Church each Summer. The sermons have been about how Jesus' Good News brings us from one way of life to another. So in two weeks, Emily is preaching about "From Loneliness to Belonging", and another pastor friend of mine did "From Death to Life".       I love this event cause we get to stay connected with local students and encourage a myriad of different ways for them to gro...
